Review #1. Uncrowded Personalized Tour

“Started with Halifax Public Gardens (one of oldest Victorian Gardens in North America), Ed dropped us off at one side and picked us up on other side. Next we went to Halifax Citadel and the overlook of Halifax Explosion. Then onto Fairview Lawn Cemetery, the resting place of many of the victims from the Titanic sinking.

We declined the Lobster dinner and went onto Peggy’s Cove a very picturesque fishing village that is the home of the William deGarthe gallery. Overall we spent about 4.5 hours on the trip, we split the cost with another couple and it was still less than the ccruise ship’s excursion (with the advantages of no crowds and personalized itinerary).”

Review #2. Most Flexible Way to Tour

“I coordinated with Lem via email to set up the cruise excursion. His responses were prompt and he answered my questions. He explained how we would meet our drivers (we needed two) and offered some tour ideas. My group had two toddlers so I was excited to learn he could provide car seats as well. Cost was affordable and cheaper than cruise excursions.

The company was reliable and at the cruise terminal when we arrived. I would have traveled with this company regardless because of the flexibility. Not being tied to the cruise tour busses enables you to stop and go as you please and go to locations the busses can’t reach. The tour guides were professional, knowledgeable, and their cars were clean. They were also safe drivers. I highly recommend.”

Your tour guide will show you all the best historic spots in Halifax and then if you want to stop for a meal or to take pictures that is fine. We can stop at Acadian Maple Products‎ on the way to Peggy’s Cove for some real maple candy, maple syrup, and maple wine.  Tour passengers who ring their passports can have them stamped with the Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse stamp.

Peggy’s Cove has the usual classic red-and-white lighthouse look with an automated light on top that is still maintained‎ by the Canadian Government.

The Peggy’s Cove lighthouse is situated on an extensive granite out crop at Peggy’s Point where visitors can explore this granite out crop around the lighthouse. You must, however, use caution near the edge of the rocks because visitors have slipped on the dark wet rocks in the past and have been swept right off the rocks by waves into the ocean, where a few have actually drowned.

Please be careful on the rocks. You will see many signs that point out this danger so be prepared with the proper footwear before making the trek to Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse.
