Great Time

My wife and I have cruised a number of times. We always took tours provided by the ship, A fried recommended the Halifax Tour Guys. It was a great experience. We were met by our Driver Doug Richard. Doug was very friendly, and a great tour guy. He had a plan and made some adjustments that made our tour enjoyable. There were a few stops that he made that I know we would have not made on a bus tour. It was a great experience for us. Thanks Doug!!!

Thank you so much for your review Joseph! We enjoyed taking you on a tour!

Halifax Memories

We had 12 people, so we had two vehicles. Picked up at the cruise ship port by Dennis and David. We loved the intimate and personal tour with our two fantastic tour guides. Not only did we see the major sites: Halifax, the Citadel, the Titanic Cemetery, Acadia Maple Products, and Peggy's Cove, but they took us to see some of the local sites. They recommended a great little restaurant for lunch. The time we spent with Dennis and David, was the highlight of our cruise, thank you both for the memories.

Great Coastline Tour

I was in Halifax on business and had 1 day for sightseeing. I'm tired of mass tour groups and wanted something more private but yet still affordable (if that was possible). I found Halifax Tour Guys while researching my options and thought I'd give them a try.

And I'm very glad I did. I opted for Tour #5 (Coastline) and booking was straightforward. I had to adjust my tour date due to a schedule conflict, and this was no problem for Lem and the Guys. Tour #5 included a scheduled stop at Peggy's Cove, but after riding for awhile and talking with Lem I asked if he could also swing by Oak Island.

Although not officially part of this Tour, Lem took me to Oak Island and on the way told me about the legends and treasure. Based on my preferences and Lem's conversations we also stopped at the Swiss Air Memorial and Acadian Maple Products (great local maple syrup!). Lem was a great host, very personable and knowledgeable about Nova Scotian history and legends. I asked for a lot of stops to take pictures and Lem was always accommodating. This private tour of Nova Scotia makes you truly feel like a VIP -- at very competitive prices.

I strongly recommend Halifax Tour Guys for anyone wishing to see the sights of Nova Scotia without the crowded "tour group" feeling. Ask for Lem and you won't regret it.

Hey Jeff, we are glad you loved the tour of Halifax and Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. Feel free to book our private tour services anytime!

Halifax Tour Guys Are Great

I chose Halifax Tour Guys for a 5 hour tour of Halifax and Peggy's Cove while on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and I highly recommend them in all manner. The booking, follow up instructions, and payment were friendly, helpful, and smooth. Our tour guide, Dave, was knowledgeable, informative, funny, and very accommodating to take us exactly where we wanted to go, and to make great recommendations on our various stops.

He was particularly interesting as he explained the 1917 explosion in Halifax Harbor, and took us to see part of the anchor that was blown almost 3 miles from the explosion. His recommendation of Acadia Maple Products was a great stop, and he delivered us right to the best drop off point for breathtaking Peggy's Cove even though the traffic was massive.

However, his suggestion to visit Shaw's Landing Restaurant in the beautiful fishing village of French Village was perfect. The view from the deck of the restaurant was everything I had hoped to see as examples of the little fishing villages of New England and Canada, and the food was excellent. The cost of the tour was very good, and far below the "Cattle Call" bus excursions offered by the cruise lines. If you want an informative fun tour of Halifax, book the Tour Guys.

Thank you for the review Paul! Much appreciated !!

Great tour

We only had a few days in Halifax and decided to do a tour. This was so simple to set up and our tour was great! Lem was extremely knowledgeable about Halifax and showed/told us all sort of interesting facts. We did the Halifax/Peggy Cove tour and it worked out great. We even got to stop and see Dave and his lobsters at Ryer Lobsters which I think was a highlight for my daughter! Highly recommended.

I coordinated with Lem via email to set up the cruise excursion. His responses were prompt and he answered my questions. He explained how we would meet our drivers (we needed two) and offered some tour ideas. My group had two toddlers so I was excited to learn he could provide car seats as well. Cost was affordable and cheaper than cruise excursions. The company was reliable and at the cruise terminal when we arrived. I would have traveled with this company regardless because of the flexibility. Not being tied to the cruise tour busses enables you to stop and go as you please and go to locations the busses can't reach. The Halifax tour guides were professional, knowledgeable, and their cars were clean. They were also safe drivers. I highly recommend.
